David Henderson
Landscape Designer / Masters in Horticulture

David Henderson is one of the most knowledgeable landscape designers in the area and we are fortunate to have him at Turf Tamer, Inc. He has a B.S. degree in biology from Samford Universi ty, an A.S. degree in Agribusiness from Jefferson State Community College, and a Master’s degree in Horticulture from Mississippi State University. David gained experience as a crew leader in Freeport, Bahamas and then in nursery sales in the Birmingham, AL area before starting a career as a college professor. He taught Horticulture at Auburn University and Jefferson State Community College for the last 26 years. His classes included Landscape
Design, Landscape Installation and Maintenance, Ornamental Plant Identification, and Turf grass Management. He even participated in beginning a Master Gardener Program in Jefferson County. He has worked on many design and construction projects ranging from small to large home garden renovations, beach condominiums , native plantings for lake properties, and specialty pruning. David’s diverse background enables him to work interactively with our entire team to make all of his projects highly successful.

David has a wife and two children who are equally talented.

When he’s not busy turning landscapes into works of art, David likes gardening, reading, traveling
and playing sports.
