Lee Buffington is the 31-year old founder and president of Turf Tamer, Inc. Turf Tamer was started while in high school as a way to make money before college. He left high school with aspirations of becoming a doctor, but after two years in business, changed direction. At the end of the second year in college Turf Tamer had sales of $200,000 and Lee had found his new passion. Turf Tamer began to grow and has never stopped.

Lee was placed into the prestigious group of Certified Landscape Professionals in 2002 after completing all courses and testing required by the Professional Landcare Network. Currently there are only 4 Certified Landscape Professionals in the state of Alabama. He is also certified by the State of Alabama for Ornamental & Turf Pesticide Supervisor and Setting of Landscape Plants. He served on the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce board of directors from 2004-2006. Lee serves as president of JLB Media Group, LLC., an advertising company located in Fort Payne, Alabama and TTI Environmental, Inc., a construction company based in Fort Payne.

In 2007 Turf Tamer, Inc. was awarded the “Better Business Bureau Torch Award – Finalists” for business ethics. This prestigious award is for fair, honest and ethical business dealings with clients, vendors and employees and our great customer service.

Lee lives in Fort Payne with his wife Crystal, daughter, Hannah and son, Jon Parker. Lee is adding to the family and has one more son, Patrick "coming soon."
