KATE WEST, Chief Financial Officer

Kate currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer for Turf Tamer, Inc.  With 23 years of experience in accounting and finance, Kate has worked with small, family-owned businesses to large, publicly traded corporations in various industries from manufacturing to service provision.  Kate brings her strengths of maximizing resources, improving processes, and achieving success to her role as CFO.  With a love of education and a passion for developing people, Kate strives to facilitate continuous improvements with the Turf Tamer team.

Kate is the founder of two non-profit organizations:  Caring to Educate, an organization dedicated to the support of single mothers in the achievement of their educational goals, and Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga (YPAC), an organization committed to creating an environment for connecting with others, creating enthusiasm for Chattanooga, encouraging future leadership, inspiring entrepreneurship, and supporting the community by sponsoring local charities. 

Kate holds degrees from both Oklahoma State University and Florida Metropolitan University in Accounting and Business Administration.  Kate passed the Certified Management Accountant exams in 2015.  Kate is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, and she currently serves as Vice President of Education on the Chattanooga Chapter Board of Directors. She served as President of the Chattanooga IMA in 2004-2005.  Kate served in several roles on the Board of Directors for the Chattanooga Chapter of Executive Women’s International, and she has participated in the Women Mentoring Women program for Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute.

When not working, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and their six children:  hiking, bird watching, fishing, and spending time on the water.
